A church dedicated to Santa Maria once stood in the small square in front of the castle, where the Disciplinanti or "Battuti Bianchi" had their own oratory.
The oratory wa sdestroyed when the unsafe church of Santa Maria was pulled down, and the Disciplinanti had present church build in 1755, dedicating it to San Bernardino.
It is build in the Baroque style, with an ostentatious monumental facade.
